NICHOLSON RANCH

An amazingly dense but elegant Chardonnay with a nose of pineapple, orange blossom, white currants and copious tropical fruits, all accented by sweet French oak.

Nose of vanilla inflected with lavender, violets and cloves. The wine is a dark purple color with concentrated flavors of plum, raspberry and huckleberry. The flavor is reminiscent of dark red-fruit preserves and finishes with added aromas of bacon, cedar and coffee.

A wonderful cool-climate Pinot. The nose shows strawberries, cherries and plums, infused with rose petals and lavender. In the glass, these sweet aromas are juxtaposed with an earthy bouquet of hay, forest floor, cedar and cinnamon stick.

Layered and complex with light citrus and fruit aromas. Vibrant vanilla, toffee, caramel on the mouth which culminate in pineapple and star fruit which linger on.

The initial aromas are of fresh hay are followed by smells of ripe red cherries and raspberries. In the glass, red fruits mix with oak and earthiness to build the component flavors. Higher-toned notes of orange zest, cola and coffee augment the palate.

The nose begins with blackberries and lavender and ends with sage, rosemary and mint. The palate picks up with a range of dark fruit flavors that are buffered by the stem influence of ripe tannin, Provençal herbs and black olives.

The 2006 Nicholson Ranch Durell Vineyard Chardonnay is rich and complex from start to finish. Nose of honeysuckle is joined by aromas of tropical fruit and citrus and creme brulee. This wine was made in a distinctive old-world Burgundian style.

The nose of this wine is fruit forward with notes of dark fruit and blackberry. First impressions are of vanilla and toasted coconut. It is balanced on the palate with velvety tannins.

This 2006 Nicholson Ranch Pinot Noir is balanced, soft and supple, a perfect example of the earthy nature of Sonoma Coast Pinots. Presents earth, sandalwood, mushroom and spice, mulled Bing cherries on mid-palate, with a long finish.

Opening this Syrah is like opening a cedar box with traces of anise and white pepper. Lively in the mouth, it has an old-fashioned cream soda texture.

Rich and complex from start to finish, the nose reveals a distinct honeysuckle aroma joined by tropical fruit, citrus and creme brulee. The nose is exotic, wonderfully warm, and layered without being buttery or oakey.

A gold medal winner, the 2007 Nicholson Ranch Pinot Noir is very fruit forward and supple. The mid-palate is smooth and rich and there is a lovely floral nuance with some spice from our 113 clone. White pepper and lots of cream on the mid-palate.
